With a population of around 237.5 million, Nigeria remains the largest economy and most populous country in Africa. Its growing population and economic strength continue to drive strong purchasing and consumption power. In 2025, Nigeria’s GDP is estimated at $285 billion, with a growth rate of 3.90%, while total imports reach approximately $43.0 billion, highlighting the country’s strong reliance on foreign goods.

Although Nigeria's manufacturing industry is still in the early stages of industrialization, a significant proportion of goods depend on imports, making it a typical consumer-driven market. Imported second-hand vehicles mainly come from Japan, Europe, and the United States. In addition, railway transportation remains underdeveloped, with over 80% of freight and passenger transport relying on road networks.

This makes Nigeria one of the most important markets in Africa for passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as automotive spare parts. Favorable policies, including a 5% tariff on bulk vehicle imports and relatively low tariffs on spare parts, further support market growth. Coupled with abundant oil resources and a large population, Nigeria’s automotive parts industry presents vast market potential.
